At Care Advantage, exceptional care starts with exceptional training. Our Caregiver Engagement Centers are designed to prepare caregivers with the skills, confidence, and hands-on experience they need to deliver safe, compassionate, and professional care from day one.
These centers feature dedicated professional skills labs stocked with everything a caregiver may encounter in the home—from a simple toothbrush to advanced equipment like a Hoyer lift. Set up to mirror a real in-home environment, the labs create a sense of familiarity and allow caregivers to practice skills in realistic settings before stepping into a client’s home.
Training at our Engagement Centers is highly personalized. Caregivers can participate in individualized sessions focused on specific skills that align with a client’s plan of care, ensuring they are fully prepared to meet unique needs. We also offer large and small group training with hands-on demonstrations, opportunities to practice key skills, and “teach-back” methods so caregivers feel confident and competent from their very first shift.
To support caregivers at every stage of their career, we provide new PCA skills checks as well as advanced and refresher training for experienced PCAs. Beyond technical care, our centers emphasize soft skills training—covering topics such as professional appearance, introducing oneself on a first shift, meal preparation, and maintaining a clean and comfortable home environment.
Caregivers also receive disease-specific education and have access to specialty courses in dementia care, hospice care, behavioral health, and de-escalation techniques. In addition, invited guest experts regularly lead targeted trainings to further expand knowledge and expertise.
Currently, Care Advantage’s Caregiver Engagement Centers are established in our Central and East regions, with plans underway to roll them out to additional regions.
