This quarter, Care Advantage, Inc. launched its first-ever I CARE Quarterly Caregiver Awards, and we could not be more proud of the four exceptional Caregivers who earned this honor.
Each month, local office teams select Caregivers of the Month who went above and beyond in delivering outstanding care. From that group, four Caregivers of the Quarter are chosen. These are the employees who continue to show up, month after month, with exceptional attentiveness, dedication, and heart. They do not just meet the standard; they raise it.

Ride Bakayoko | Care Advantage, Fredericksburg
In her year with Care Advantage, Inc., Ride has shown a rare gift for handling difficult situations with grace and steadiness that her team counts on completely.
She recently worked with an aggressive dementia client that other Caregivers had struggled with. When asked about her approach, Ride put it simply: “It takes patience and remembering that dementia is not who she is, but is what causes her aggressive behaviors.” That perspective says everything about who Ride is as a Caregiver.
That same calm shows up everywhere she works. She gently redirects a client with Parkinson’s and dementia who becomes restless at night, wanting to go home. She connects with clients through language barriers, finding ways to provide excellent care even when words do not translate.
As her nominator said: “Ride is my go-to when I have difficult situations, because I know without a doubt, she can handle it and represent Care Advantage like the rock star she is. Every single client I have ever sent her to has complimented her. This is well overdue and deserved.”
Jasmine Taylor | Care Advantage, Charlottesville
In five and a half years with Care Advantage, Inc., Jasmine has built a reputation that speaks for itself. She treats her clients like family, and when the situation calls for it, she proves just how far that commitment goes.
When last-minute shifts needed covering, Jasmine stepped up without hesitation. When her previous client lost eligibility and the only available assignments included short two-hour shifts that are not the most financially practical, she accepted them without complaint. She simply showed up and gave her all.
Jasmine is often requested for special occasions, including weddings, where families need a Caregiver who can provide outstanding support while blending seamlessly into the day. The relationships she builds do not end when the assignment does. Families stay in touch with her long after her service has concluded.
As her nominator put it: “No matter where I send Jasmine, she is always ready to provide the highest quality of care and ensure her clients feel supported and valued. Her willingness to go the extra mile and her commitment to exceptional service make her a tremendous asset to our team.”
Dernisha Hinton | Care Advantage, Southside Virginia
There are Caregivers who go above and beyond at work, and then there is Dernisha.
Right now, Dernisha is managing her mother’s care following unexpected brain surgery for an aneurysm. She is also supporting her family through the sudden loss of her sister’s daughter, and raising several young children of her own, including one of her daughter’s children she has taken in. She is pursuing her college education, all at the same time.
Through all of it, she continues to show up with the same dedication and warmth that earned her this recognition.
Dernisha’s strength is quiet and steady, and it is the kind that does not ask for anything in return. We see her, we are grateful for her, and we are so proud to call her one of our own. Dernisha was unable to join us on set, but that did not stop us from celebrating her!
Sonia D’Favour | Capital City Nurses, Chevy Chase
In just over a year with Capital City Nurses, Sonia has shown how much love, dignity, and a little creativity can change someone’s experience of care.
Late in 2025, Sonia’s client was hospitalized and deeply disoriented, needing near around-the-clock coverage and struggling through a very difficult stretch. Sonia stepped in and immediately brought the family a sense of relief. She told her client they needed to get strong again so they could dance together, then broke into a little dance right there in the hospital room. Her client laughed and danced along from the bed.
That spirit carries into the quieter moments, too. Ahead of a Christmas Eve dinner with family, Sonia took the time to do her client’s hair and makeup and add jewelry to complete her outfit. The family was overjoyed at how happy and radiant she looked at the holiday table.
As her nominator put it: “Sonia leads with love, acts with creative compassion, and treats her client with the dignity she deserves. That has made all the difference.”
